ABOUT ME
In my job as a psychiatrist, my main goal in treatment is to educate patients about their options and provide them as much information as they need to make informed decisions about their care and about the care of their families. This is especially important when it comes to caring for patients around the birth of their children, which is one of the most profound times in a person's life.
In 2023, after over a decade caring for women as a doctor, I started exploring how the internet could help bridge the gap between quality information and teaching about the risks and pitfalls of the perinatal period and the number of qualified professionals available to do this. From my work with women over the years, I know that it is much easier to prevent problems than it is to try to fix them later. I also know that there are many barriers to mental health support and education, including the stigma of admitting there is a problem or even being able to identify that a person might be at risk in the first place. The Good Enough Mother Mindset was created to provide quality education from an experienced mental health professional to decrease the barriers to accessing the information that parents need to make their transition into parenthood successful.
